Student Sustainability Advisory Council

Council Member

• Appointed by Penn State President to serve on council of students and faculty advisors to advance sustainable programs and policies through research, stakeholder collaboration, climate advocacy

 

Presidential Leadership Academy

Academy Member, April 2018 – Present

• Participate in three-year certificate program consisting of weekly courses with President Eric Barron and Dean Johnson of the Schreyer Honors College to develop leadership toolkit and repertoire of critical thinking and decision-making skills

• Develop connections with Penn State faculty and community stakeholders around the world through off-campus leadership experiences, travel, and workshops

• Crafted long term policy proposal for innovations to food-security solutions on campus

 

Schreyer for Women

President, March 2019 – Present

Service Chair, March 2018 – March 2019

• Lead organization of over sixty members that empowers women within the community and abroad through career development workshops, community outreach, service, and mentorship

• Effectively oversee executive board of ten directors, facilitate meetings and events, manage budget, steward partnerships in community and university

• Helped oversee creation of local chapter of nonprofit organization, Days for Girls, to provide sustainable, reusable menstrual products to reduce barriers to women’s education and health

 

State of State

Conference Presenter, November 2019

• Selected to speak at annual conference alongside student leaders, community members, and faculty regarding fostering inclusive communities within women’s organizations and the political nature of building interest group organizations

• Wrote and delivered talk entitled “Re-orienting the Political Nature of Women’s Organizations”

 

Gender Equity Taskforce for Scholars

Co-Founding Member, February 2019 - Present

• Founding member of task force within the Schreyer Honors College to create programming, support, and awareness about sexual violence and harassment on campus

• Partner with the Gender Equity Center and Stand for State to provide inclusive and professional workshops for scholars and community members

 

Scholar Ambassador

Crowdfunding Project Lead, April 2018 – Present

• Selected by Schreyer Honors College administration to promote college programs to prospective students and faculty by conducting tours of the college, running admissions and philanthropic events, and serving as a point of contact for university partners

• Designed and implemented crowdfunding campaign to endow funds for mental health and wellness; regularly consulted with staff to create campaign with goal of raising $2,000 in one-month window

 

Empower Orphans PSU

Fundraising Chair, November 2017 – April 2019

• Volunteered monthly with local youth at the Penns Valley Youth Center and Park Forest Preschool

• Effectively utilized $1,000 in grant funds to procure academic supplies for local youth center; planned and implemented post-high school planning program created to provide guidance and resources to further higher education

 

Orientation Mentor | SHO Time

Academic Affairs Committee Member & Student Mentor, January 2018 – August 2018

• Served as mentor for group of twelve first-year scholars to guide through campus transition, academic support, community building, and university resources

• Orchestrated diverse team bonding and informational academic planning events

 

UNESCO Youth as Researchers | Penn State Extension

Undergraduate Researcher, September 2017 - February 2018

• Selected to work on a team of undergraduate students under PhD fellow to conduct research on perceptions of food insecurity and learn about undergraduate research process with faculty

 

Study Abroad | Thailand

• Travelled throughout Thailand during May 2019 to study the impacts of natural hazards and climate change on Thailand’s economy, landscape, and communities

• Participated in immersive professional and cultural experiences such as consulting with the 2017 Thai Cave rescue team, several Thai government agencies, farmers, and Kasetsart university students
